In Calgary, the benchmark price for detached houses has surged, with the total residential benchmark price at $596,900, over 5% higher than last year. East Calgary leads with a 15.1% increase to $526,900, followed by northeast Calgary at 11.1% to $614,300, and south Calgary at 10.1% to $731,300. New listings rose to 3,687 units, the highest since 2008. Despite rising prices, a report indicates that the income required to buy a home has decreased significantly in Calgary.
